As practitioners at ‘Love of Learning’ we are all passionate about making school a place where children will love learning, have fun, learn to communicate and interact with others, develop creativity, self-confidence and resilience in contexts which inspire them to become life-long learners.
We believe that children are born ready, able and eager to learn. We are constantly looking for ways to ensure this eagerness is not lost as children progress through primary school.
We believe in an active, fluid, responsive child led curriculum which provides rich, vivid and real experiences and this is what we aim to provide in our classrooms.
A quote from Vivian Paley:
The key is curiosity, and it is curiosity, not answers that we model. As we seek to know more about a child, we demonstrate the acts of observing, listening, questioning and wondering. When we are curious about a child’s words and our responses to those words, the child feels respected. The child is respected.
“What are the ideas that I have that are so interesting to the teacher? I must be somebody with good ideas”.
Love of Learning is a space for practitioners to share ideas and learn from each other so that we can all provide the ‘awe and wonder’ in learning that we believe is the right of every child.
